Synopsis (My thoughts: what I learned):
In his article “Journalism,” 2020, states that there were four factors in the professionalism of Journalism . (According to Brian Duignan of Journalism, This pattern was influenced by four major factors: 1. a rising feeling of social duty on the part of journalists, 2. specialized journalism education, 3. a developing literature dealing with the history, issues, and tactics of mass communication, and 4. an expanding sense of social obligation on the part of journalists.

In group 2 paper’s “Soft news emphasizes more on the details of the news”, states that Soft news in general is news that in terms of writing structure is relatively more flexible, dynamic, and in terms of content is not too heavy like other news. Soft news in general is not too straightforward, not rigid, or strict, especially in terms of time and sometimes it will not easily get stale and can be read at any time.

In group 3 paper’s “News Gathering and Interviewing: Conducting the Interview”, states that Use the Ws and H to form relevant questions that will get the interviewee to open up with you. The what, how and why are especially good for this because these questions cause the interviewee to explain something to you, and that means he or see will be speaking in entire sentences, possibly even paragraphs, rather than in one-word responses.

In the paper and PPT from Group 4 with the title “Background research: Investigative reporting and other methods in news-gathering”, I learned a few things about what we should investigate and things to prepare before conducting an interview. And it turns out that interviews have various types. All of these are new things that I have learned.

Williamson state that feature as creative writing that is primarily designed to provide information while entertaining about an event, situation, or aspect of a persons’ life.

In the paper and PPT from Group 6 with the title “Writing a Personality Profile and a News Feature”, I got knowledge about the definition of a personality profile also known as a profile is an in-depth look at a person’s lifestyle, characteristics, emotions, hobbies, appearance, achievement, success, or obstacles surmounted in life. This type of feature gives interesting information about the person’s life, rather than just the person’s opinions. Meanwhile, the news feature is your typical essay that says facts, events, or processes accompanied by historical explanations of occurrence, the nature of the case, the process of its formation, and how it works. Both of them have their structure, steps, and lists of information that need to be written.

Political cartoonists generally adopt a caricaturist style of drawing, to capture the likeness of a politician or subject. They may also employ humor or satire to ridicule an individual or group, emphasize their point of view or comment on a particular event. In the book that lecturer gave, also in the paper and PPT from Group 2 with the title “Review Writing: Analyze And Reviewing A Movie Or Art Form”, I got knowledge about the exact way to reviewing a movie or art form. The rules and also what should I pay attention in create a review. In order to achieve the correct writing review, I need to pay a lot of attention and understanding to this material.

In the paper and PPT from Group 3 with the title “Using Photograph: Writing Caption”, I got knowledge about the exact format of writing captions for publication and things that need to giving an attention for write the caption, and also the information that needed to be put in the caption. In order to achieve the correct writing caption, I need to pay a lot of attention and understanding to this material.

It is also told us a messages paid for by those who send them and are intended to inform or influence people who receive them, as defined by the Advertising Association of the UK.

I also came to know that there are special things that need to be considered in making a survey, not just doing it right away.

Broadcast journalism, is defined as a means of speaking or appearing on radio or television. Broadcast media are immediate, bringing news from the scene into viewers and listeners' homes. Broadcast stories give information without a great deal of detail. News stories run with a of 2-7 minutes. Broadcast stories are circular in nature. Newscasters speak more conversationally to their listeners than print journalists write. Before the publication, there will be not just an overall plan and layout print to be made and be printed, there must also be a precise plan for the broadcast program, including a news broadcast. Because the entire broadcast needs to be scripted, the stories are only one part of script. Between reporters seemingly spontaneous encounter to takes up air time. Nevertheless, the broadcast must be planned so that it fits the allotted air time and each segment must be timed precisely.
